Washington has very rich history. Did you know that the land we call Washington that people have lived their for more than 10,00 years people could've came here by a land bridge that may have been exposed  to water that fell during ice age. A thousand  of years later, lots of native american tribes, which include Yakima,Chinook, and Nez Perce have lived on that land. European explorers came to the land by sea in the 1700s, they spent some time ashore before getting back on their ships. Lewis and Clark, the very first americans to explore the west. Washington became a state on November 11, 1889 and is the 42nd state.
